Jacksonville Landing, Shopping center and esplanade in Downtown Jacksonville, United States.
Jacksonville Landing was a two-story glass building on the north bank of the St. Johns River with shops and water views. The complex stretched along the waterfront promenade and connected retail spaces with the riverfront setting.
The center opened in 1987 as a Rouse Company project and remained in operation for over three decades. The city demolished the complex in 2019 to make way for new waterfront development.
The complex served as a venue for music, markets, and celebrations along the river during its operating years. Visitors could stroll the boardwalk during these occasions and experience the waterfront atmosphere.
The plaza was particularly active during evening hours when guests used the outdoor areas and boardwalk. From the water, the building was easy to spot through its glass facade.
The Jacksonville Maritime Museum used vacant retail space to display ship models and nautical exhibits. This additional use complemented the commercial offerings with educational content for visitors.
