Lullwater House features an L-shaped design with stone walls, tall windows, and multiple chimneys overlooking Candler Lake at Emory University.
Walter T. Candler, son of Coca-Cola founder Asa Griggs Candler, commissioned architects Ivey and Crook to build this residence in 1926.
The mansion represents the architectural preferences of Atlanta's business elite during the early twentieth century through its Tudor-Gothic revival style.
Since 1963, Lullwater House has served as the official residence for Emory University presidents, following its acquisition from the Candler family.
The property once operated as Lullwater Farms, where Walter Candler maintained racing horses and cattle on the surrounding fields.
