Fernbank Science Center, Science museum in Atlanta, Georgia, US

The Fernbank Science Center encompasses exhibit halls, an electron microscope laboratory, and outdoor areas dedicated to natural sciences and technology education.

Founded in December 1967, the Fernbank Science Center became the first educational institution within a public school system to operate its own large-scale planetarium.

The center maintains an extensive collection of exhibits, including dinosaur skeletons, mineral specimens, and the Apollo 6 spacecraft from NASA's Saturn V program.

While admission to exhibit halls remains free, planetarium shows cost 10 dollars for adults and 5 dollars for students, with programs scheduled on Fridays and Saturdays.

The Jim Cherry Memorial Planetarium features a 70-foot diameter projection dome equipped with full digital immersion technology funded by Lockheed Martin in 2012.
