The Independent Presbyterian Church features a white exterior with tall columns, a prominent steeple, and symmetrical windows along Bull Street.
Founded in 1755 as the first Presbyterian congregation in Georgia, the current building dates from 1891 after fires destroyed previous structures.
The church maintains a connection to Scottish traditions through its origins, as King George II granted the land for Presbyterian settlers.
The sanctuary opens for public tours during weekdays, with regular services held on Sundays and additional worship gatherings on Wednesday evenings.
Lowell Mason, who served as the church organist, composed numerous hymns that became part of American Protestant musical tradition.
