Big Talbot Island State Park, Natural preserve on barrier island in Florida, United States.

Big Talbot Island features dark sedimentary rock formations along its shores, creating distinct habitats for mollusks, crabs, and oysters in tide pools.

Named in 1735 by General James Oglethorpe after Charles Talbot, the Lord High Chancellor of Great Britain, following colonial claims by France, England, and Spain.

The Timucua Native Americans were the first inhabitants of this barrier island, establishing settlements before European colonization began in 1562.

Visitors can access Boneyard Beach through the park entrance or Blackrock Trail, with operating hours from 8:00 AM until sunset throughout the year.

The beach presents fallen oak trees scattered across its shoreline, their bleached trunks and branches creating natural sculptures against the Atlantic Ocean.
