Miles Brewton House, Georgian residence in downtown Charleston, United States.

The Miles Brewton House features a two-story portico with Doric and Ionic orders carved from Portland stone, along with finely proportioned pediments and incised friezes.

Built between 1765 and 1769 for a wealthy merchant, the house served as headquarters for British forces during the American Revolution and Union forces in 1865.

The residence represents the architectural excellence of colonial America, featuring Italian-influenced Palladian design principles and detailed classical elements throughout its structure.

The property, situated on King Street near Charleston's southern peninsula, remains a private residence and access to the interior requires special arrangements.

The entrance maintains original defensive iron spikes, known as chevaux de frise, installed to protect against potential intruder attacks during colonial times.
