San Francisco Playhouse operates in an intimate 199-seat venue, presenting a mix of contemporary plays, classic dramas, and Broadway musicals throughout the year.
Established in 2003, the San Francisco Playhouse has grown into a major theatrical institution, receiving recognition from the Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle from 2012 to 2022.
The theater maintains a New Works Program and Sandbox Series that support emerging playwrights and directors while introducing fresh perspectives to the stage.
Located at 450 Post Street, the theater presents shows from Tuesday through Sunday, with performances scheduled from November 2024 through June 2025.
The venue earned the American Theatre Wing National Theatre Company grant, qualifying it for consideration for the Regional Tony Award.
