Tehàma Golf Club, Private golf course in Carmel Valley, US
Tehàma Golf Club is an 18-hole private course sprawling across 6,506 yards of terrain in Carmel Valley. The fairways follow the natural contours of the land, while the Spanish-style clubhouse includes a restaurant, bar, ballroom, and accommodations for members.
Designer Jay Morrish created the course in 1999 with a par-72 layout that honors the existing topography. The design demonstrates how a modern golf facility can be integrated into an established landscape without major alterations.
The name Tehàma comes from a Native American language and refers to natural abundance, reflecting the surrounding landscape. This connection to the region's heritage appears in how the club is designed and how it sits within its environment.
The clubhouse features dining, bar service, and overnight accommodations alongside event space, with entry controlled through secured gates. Visitors should be aware that access is limited to members and their guests only.
Membership is strictly limited to 90 families, maintaining tight control over who uses the facilities. This restriction keeps the place as one of the most exclusive golf communities in the region.
