Olompali State Historic Park, Historic state park in Novato, United States.
The 700-acre parkland contains oak woodlands, rolling hills, and numerous hiking trails surrounded by native California vegetation and wildlife species.
The site features the oldest surviving house north of San Francisco Bay, constructed in 1776 using adobe bricks by the Coast Miwok tribe chief.
Archaeological studies at Olompali reveal extensive evidence of Coast Miwok settlements dating back to 500 CE, indicating a major trade center location.
Visitors can access the park daily from 9 AM to 5 PM, with an entrance fee of 8 dollars payable through cash or digital methods.
The property served as a temporary residence for the Grateful Dead band before becoming a commune known as The Chosen Family in the late 1960s.
