Edwards Stadium, Track and field stadium in Berkeley, US
Edwards Stadium features an Art Deco design with a 22,000-seat capacity and provides views of the Berkeley Hills and San Francisco Bay.
The stadium, constructed in 1932, served as the first facility in the United States built specifically for track and field competitions.
The facility has recorded 12 world records, including the first 15-foot pole vault by Cornelius Warmerdam in 1940 at this location.
The stadium currently hosts University of California Berkeley track and field events, with soccer matches taking place on Goldman Field.
The Walter Christie Oval, named after California's first track coach, includes a commemorative bench funded by Friends of California Track.
