Tumalo Mountain, Shield volcano in Cascade Range, Oregon, US.
Tumalo Mountain rises to an elevation of 7,779 feet with prominent volcanic features and extensive glacial formations on its northeastern side.
The United States Forest Service operated a fire lookout tower on the mountain summit from 1930 until its removal in the 1970s.
The mountain holds geological importance within the Cascade Volcanic Arc, contributing to scientific research of volcanic formations in Oregon.
Visitors access the summit through established trails on the southwest flank, which lead to views of Broken Top and Mount Bachelor.
The northeast flank contains a large glacial cirque that forms a natural bowl, making it a destination for backcountry skiing activities.
