Westport Light State Park, State park on Pacific Ocean in Grays Harbor County, USA
Westport Light State Park is a 560-acre coastal reserve on the Pacific Ocean in Grays Harbor County with more than 1,200 feet of direct ocean access. The grounds are connected by concrete walkways and border additional beaches and recreational areas.
The park took shape when two state reserves merged in 2016, doubling the available land significantly. The neighboring lighthouse was built in 1898 to guide ships safely into the harbor entrance.
The lighthouse shapes how people experience the place and reflects the region's deep ties to fishing and maritime trade. You can sense this connection in the structures and pathways throughout the park.
The grounds are easy to explore on foot with well-maintained paths and clear transitions between different areas. Check ahead for seasonal conditions and weather patterns before planning your visit.
The park was originally split into two separate reserves, with one section initially slated for golf course development before the merger. The combination created one of the larger coastal recreational areas in the region today.
