Twin Harbors State Park, State park at Pacific coast in Grays Harbor County, US.
Twin Harbors State Park is a coastal park on the Pacific shore of Washington state, with sand dunes, driftwood-covered beaches, and direct ocean access. The grounds include both open beach sections and forested camping areas set back from the water.
The land was used as a military training facility in the 1930s, and barracks stood on the site until their demolition in 1977. After the military left, the area was gradually opened to the public as a recreation space.
The beach is used year-round for fishing and clamming, reflecting the daily life of the Pacific Northwest coast. Visitors in fall or winter can watch local families in rubber boots scanning the sandflats for razor clams.
The park offers camping in yurts, cabins, and RV sites, with shower and restroom facilities on site. Check the tide schedule before heading to the beach, since low tide is when the shoreline is easiest to walk and clam.
Part of the beach is officially designated for razor clam harvesting during specific seasons, and a state license is required to participate. The season itself is approved by state authorities who monitor water quality and shellfish populations before opening any dig.
