Conboy Lake National Wildlife Refuge, National Wildlife Refuge at Mount Adams, Washington.
The refuge spans 7,071 acres of wetlands, forests, and grasslands at the base of Mount Adams in southern Washington state.
The Whitcomb-Cole log house, built in 1891 near the refuge headquarters, represents one of the few remaining pioneer structures in Klickitat County.
Archaeological evidence shows Native American settlements dating back 11,000 years, with Yakama tribes collecting camas roots during spring seasons.
Visitors can observe wildlife from county roads, hike the Willard Springs trail, and participate in seasonal hunting and fishing activities.
The refuge houses one of only four Washington populations of Oregon spotted frogs, discovered by biologists in 1992.
