Clallam Bay Corrections Center

Clallam Bay Corrections Center is a correctional facility located on the Olympic Peninsula in Clallam County, about two miles south of the town of Clallam Bay. The complex houses inmates across multiple security levels and is staffed by approximately 400 professionals who maintain daily operations.

The facility began operations in 1985 as a medium-custody institution. In 1991 it underwent a transition to become a close-custody facility.

Peninsula College faculty members provide educational programs and vocational training, including a garment manufacturing operation that supports inmate rehabilitation.

The exterior grounds can be viewed from the surrounding area, though interior access is restricted. Check ahead with the facility office for any public visiting hours or special access opportunities.

The facility offers vocational training and educational programs to residents, including an on-site garment manufacturing workshop that teaches practical skills. These hands-on programs are a core element of the rehabilitation approach during incarceration.
