Boundary Bay Wildlife Conservation Area

The conservation area spans 11,470 hectares across Boundary Bay, including intertidal salt marshes, mudflats, and marine habitats near the British Columbia coast.

The British Columbia Ministry established this protected zone in June 1995 to maintain critical habitats for migratory birds and marine species.

The area represents a major link in the Pacific Flyway, supporting over 1.5 million birds from three continents and twenty countries throughout the year.

Visitors can access the conservation zone through Metro Vancouver's Boundary Bay Regional Park, which features public trails along the dikes.

The location hosts the final Canadian nesting population of Barn Owls, concentrated in the Fraser delta region.
