Golden Ears Group, Mountain range within Golden Ears Provincial Park, British Columbia.
The Golden Ears Group is a mountain range in Golden Ears Provincial Park consisting of three main peaks visible across the Lower Mainland from considerable distances. Each peak displays different geological features and offers varying climbing opportunities for visitors.
The first documented climbers reached the summits in 1911, which led to exploration and development of multiple climbing routes across the range. Since then, the area has become an established climbing destination in British Columbia.
The name comes from Golden Eyries, originally inspired by eagles seen near the summit, showing how local wildlife shaped the place's identity.
The main access point is West Canyon Parking Lot, which connects to well-marked trails leading to the summits via Panorama Ridge. Emergency shelters are placed strategically along the route to provide safety on longer hiking and climbing trips.
The range includes separately named peaks such as Edge Peak and Blanshard Peak, each with its own distinct geological character and rock formations. This variety means each summit offers a different climbing and geological experience rather than just one unified mountain.
