Golden Ears Provincial Park, Provincial park in Metro Vancouver, Canada
Golden Ears Provincial Park is a protected area in Metro Vancouver and Fraser Valley, British Columbia. Mountain peaks, forests and lakes shape the landscape across a wide area.
Coast Salish peoples hunted and fished here for generations. The area became a separate park in 1967 after splitting from Garibaldi.
The name comes from the two peaks that glow golden during sunrise and sunset. Visitors today walk through forests, lakes and meadows that First Nations have known for thousands of years.
Campgrounds open during warmer months and visitors can access trails and water areas. Alouette Lake offers rentals for boats and other gear throughout summer.
The reserve shelters over 80 rare animal species, including owls and butterflies, living across three different habitats. This variety makes the park a key refuge for threatened species in the region.
