New Westminster, Historical port city in Metro Vancouver, Canada
New Westminster sits on the Fraser River in Metro Vancouver and includes residential and commercial areas along both riverbanks. The city connects older neighborhoods with brick buildings to newer highrise districts near the waterfront.
This city was the first capital of the colony of British Columbia from 1859 to 1866. After the colonies merged, the seat of government moved to Victoria on Vancouver Island.
The name Hyack comes from the Halkomelem language and means „fast
