B. F. Day Elementary School, Public elementary school in Fremont, Seattle, United States.
B. F. Day Elementary School is a public school in Fremont with a two-story brick building designed in Colonial Revival style. The structure houses many classrooms and expanded over the years with additional wings to serve the growing student population.
Benjamin Franklin Day and Francis R. Day donated land to the Seattle School District in 1891. The original building, completed in 1892, remains one of Seattle's oldest continuously operating school structures.
The school serves diverse families across the Fremont neighborhood and has remained a gathering place for the community over many decades. Families often return to bring their own children to the same classrooms where they once studied.
Visitors can view the school building during lunch breaks and after school hours when classes are not in session. The location is easy to reach and situated in an accessible part of Fremont with parking available nearby.
The school created a specialized program in 1973 for children from the Romani community, one of the first of its kind in the region. This initiative showed the school's commitment to supporting students from different backgrounds.
