Mount Lehman, Abbotsford, Rural settlement in Fraser Valley, British Columbia, Canada
Mount Lehman is a rural community situated on elevated terrain between Matsqui Prairie and Glen Valley in British Columbia. The area is defined by working farms, vineyards, and forested land that slopes toward the Fraser River.
The settlement began in 1874 when Royal Engineer Alben Hawkins arrived as the fourth resident on the escarpment and founded Lehman's Landing. Over the following decades, the area developed into an established rural community with its own post office.
The Mount Lehman Post Office, established in 1884, operates as a central gathering point for residents maintaining the community's rural character.
The area has a library branch, post office, fire station, and local shops for everyday needs. More extensive services and facilities require a trip to nearby Abbotsford.
The local cemetery ranks among the region's oldest burial grounds and holds graves of the first European settlers and their descendants. These historic graves offer visitors a direct connection to the area's earliest years.
