Jerome Grand Hotel, Historic hilltop hotel in Jerome, United States.
The Jerome Grand Hotel is a five-story concrete building that sits on a hillside above the Verde Valley in Jerome, Arizona. The Spanish Mission style facade features white walls, curved lines, and a tower visible from many points across the valley.
The copper company built this structure in 1926 as a hospital for its workers and their families. After the mines closed, the building stood empty until it reopened as a hotel in 1996.
The building's concrete walls and wide corridors recall its first purpose as a place where copper miners received medical care during their workdays. Visitors can ride the original elevator and walk through hallways that once connected doctors and patients in the 1920s.
The building sits on a steep street with parking available near the entrance. The restaurant is open most days, though hours may vary depending on the season.
The original heating system from the 1920s still provides warmth throughout the building. This type of boiler is now rare and shows the engineering skills of that time.
