Bain Mathieu

Bain Mathieu is a performing arts venue in Montreal with two flexible performance halls suited for different types of artistic presentations. The main hall holds approximately 400 people standing or 235 in cabaret arrangement, while the secondary space accommodates roughly 200 standing or 100 seated visitors.

The building was constructed in 1931 as a public bathhouse and originally served the neighborhood as a swimming facility. In 1998, a local arts organization transformed it into a cultural venue, giving it an entirely new purpose.

The venue serves as a platform for artists across different disciplines and is run by a local organization that supports emerging creative talent. Visitors experience a space where experimentation and artistic development are encouraged.
