Devils Hill Falls

Devils Hill Falls is a waterfall in Cape Breton featuring three distinct sections that cascade down the hillside. The upper drop measures about 6 meters, the lower section about 4.5 meters, with an intermediate cascade connecting them.

The name Devils Hill comes from a local story dating to the 1800s about a supernatural encounter at a dance. This tale gave the location its distinctive name that has stuck for generations.

The falls sit in an area shaped by German and Scottish families who built farms here over generations. These settlement patterns remain visible in the landscape and how the region is organized.

The falls are about 230 meters from New Boston Road via a short walk that is easy to manage. A small bridge guides you to viewing spots at the base of the cascades.

What makes this waterfall interesting is the intermediate cascade tucked between the two main ledges. This middle section creates a layered water feature that stands out from typical single-drop waterfalls.
