Twilight Peak

Twilight Peak is a mountain in Colorado's San Juan Range that rises above 13,000 feet in the West Needle Mountains section. The summit provides access to alpine meadows and views across the surrounding high peaks.

The peak served as a navigation landmark for early explorers mapping Colorado's southwestern mountains. Its name reflects the patterns of light and shadow observed during climbs through this high alpine region.

Local mountaineering groups regularly organize guided climbs to Twilight Peak, contributing to the preservation of traditional alpine climbing techniques in Colorado.

The climb starts at Andrews Lake Trailhead and follows marked trails through alpine terrain. Hikers should expect changing weather and steep sections, particularly as you approach the summit ridges.

The mountain features three distinct summits - the main Twilight Peak, North Twilight at 13,075 feet, and South Twilight at 12,932 feet.
