The KiMo Theater combines Native American patterns with Art Deco elements in its facade, featuring painted buffalo skulls and ceremonial symbols throughout its interior.
Constructed in 1927 by Oreste and Maria Bachechi, this Pueblo Deco style theater received its name through a competition won by Pablo Abeita.
The theater presents film screenings, live performances, art exhibitions, and community events that reflect the multicultural heritage of New Mexico.
Located at 423 Central Avenue Northwest, the theater operates Wednesday through Sunday with office hours from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
The theater building incorporates authentic Native American design elements, including ceiling beams painted with thunderbird patterns and corn motifs.
