Hotel Andaluz

Hotel Andaluz is a ten-story building in downtown with 160 rooms designed in New Mexico Territorial Revival style featuring earthtone stucco walls and brick trim along the roof. The structure combines regional architectural traditions with modern construction methods from the pre-war era.

The building opened in 1939 as the first modern high-rise hotel in New Mexico and became part of Conrad Hilton's initial expansion beyond Texas. This opening marked a turning point in the city's development.

The building displays New Mexico Territorial Revival features through its earthtone stucco and traditional regional design elements. This style shapes the downtown character today and reflects how locals envision their architectural heritage.

The building houses a restaurant and rooftop bar where visitors can dine and enjoy drinks. The downtown location makes it easily accessible and well-integrated into the surrounding neighborhood.

A comprehensive renovation in 2005 preserved the building's historical features while adding modern sustainable practices. The project achieved the highest certification level for environmentally conscious building renewal.
