The Compass Bank Building is a 18-story office tower in downtown Albuquerque that extends 238 feet into the skyline. Its base includes a six-level parking structure serving the office spaces above.
Completed in 1966 by the National Building Corporation of Tennessee, the tower was the state's tallest structure at its opening. Its construction represented a major development in Albuquerque's growth during that era.
The parking levels display molded concrete walls with patterns of stylized quatrefoils that draw inspiration from Moorish architectural elements.
The building sits at 505 Marquette Avenue Northwest in the heart of the commercial district and is easy to locate. Note that access is primarily for tenants and business activities rather than general public tours.
