500 Marquette, Commercial building in Downtown Albuquerque, United States.
500 Marquette is a commercial building in downtown Albuquerque featuring 15 floors that rise 235 feet high. The design combines a four-story glass atrium base with an 11-story trapezoidal block positioned above it, creating the structure's distinctive form.
The building was completed in 1986 by Dwayne Lewis Architects. Shortly after opening, it faced financial troubles and entered foreclosure in 1989.
The main entrance features a 12-foot bronze sculpture titled 'The Future-Chiricahua Apache Family' by artist Allan Houser. This artwork defines the public space and serves as a visual landmark for those passing through downtown.
The building includes six elevators and a five-level parking garage for vehicles. Office spaces inside vary in size to accommodate different business needs.
The building features three corner balconies that extend from the fifth to the seventh floor, giving it unexpected depth. Additional setbacks at the eighth and tenth levels interrupt the vertical line and create visual pauses across the facade.
