Maeser Elementary, Spanish Colonial Revival school in Provo, Utah.
The Maeser Elementary building features stucco walls, red tile roofs, and architectural details characteristic of the Spanish Colonial Revival style from 1922.
Named after Karl G. Maeser, a German educator who established Brigham Young Academy in 1876, the school served the community until its closure in 2002.
The building represents a period when Provo transitioned from small adobe structures to substantial educational facilities through unified district planning and development.
Following extensive renovation, the structure now contains 31 apartments for senior citizens, complete with modern amenities and community spaces.
The structure stands as the oldest public school building in Provo and received multiple awards for its transformation into residential housing.
