The George M. Brown House displays Greek Revival architecture with wooden tracery, steep gables, and decorative bargeboards throughout its two-story structure.
Built in the 1880s on property from Abraham O. Smoot, this residence served as a home for one of lawyer George M. Brown's wives.
The residence reflects the architectural evolution of Utah houses, combining Victorian design elements with mid-1800s pioneer home characteristics.
The property, now divided into apartments, maintains its historical designation status while accommodating modern residential needs in Provo.
Following construction, Brown relocated to Colonia Díaz in Mexico, where he operated a store until his death in 1894.
