Focus on the Family

Focus on the Family runs a large campus where team members develop programs and materials addressing marriage, parenting and family relationships. The site includes office buildings, conference rooms and a visitor area with hands-on elements for families.

James Dobson founded Focus on the Family in 1977 as a nonprofit organization supporting families through radio broadcasts and counseling services. The headquarters moved to Colorado Springs in 1993, where it has since expanded its reach across multiple media platforms.

The organization creates broadcasts, magazines and digital content that share traditional family values rooted in Christian faith throughout the United States. Visitors see how different teams work on media content received daily by millions of households.

Visitors can access free family counseling, join workshops and take guided tours through the facility Monday through Friday. The tours show studios and work areas, last about an hour and require no advance booking.

The headquarters houses an indoor play area called Whit's End, based on their Adventures in Odyssey radio series for children. This area recreates settings from the show and lets young visitors explore the fictional places they hear about in the broadcasts.
