Lakeside Amusement Park, Historic amusement park in Lakeside, Colorado, US
Lakeside Amusement Park is an amusement park in Lakeside, Colorado, United States, spreading over 57 acres (23 hectares) with more than 40 attractions around Lake Rhoda. The layout places a drop tower, several roller coasters, bumper cars, and a miniature train among shaded walkways and open spaces near the water.
The park opened in 1908 and gave its name to the surrounding community shortly afterward. Expansions over the decades kept the original layout while adding modern rides alongside early attractions.
Originally named The White City of the West, the park incorporated exposition-style architecture and featured a casino, theater, and ballroom for social gatherings.
Visitors can buy individual ride tickets or choose a day pass covering all attractions. Picnic baskets are welcome as long as they contain no glass bottles or containers.
The wooden carousel from the early 1900s still turns by hand and keeps its original carved figures. The miniature railroad follows the same track laid more than a century ago.
