Idaho Falls Idaho Temple, Mormon temple in Idaho Falls, United States
The Idaho Falls Idaho Temple is a white stone temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with a central spire 156 feet (47 meters) high topped by an angel Moroni statue. Inside are four ordinance rooms and nine sealing rooms designed for religious ceremonies.
Construction of this tenth temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints began in 1939 and was completed in 1945 after World War II. The completed temple became a central place of worship for members in the region.
The interior contains hand-painted murals depicting religious scenes that visitors notice throughout the ceremonial spaces. These artworks reflect how artistic expression shapes the visual experience of sacred rooms within the temple.
The temple may have restricted access during ceremonies, so it helps to check in advance about visiting opportunities and available times. Multiple language options are offered for appointments when you wish to attend presentations.
The grounds were redesigned in 2011 with a new waterfall feature that replaced the original reflecting ponds. This addition gave the exterior spaces a refreshed appearance from their previous design.
