Colonial Theatre

Colonial Theatre is a performance venue in Idaho Falls with approximately 988 seats housed within a restored building. The interior features black and white tile flooring, decorative crown moldings, and ornamental details framing the stage area.

The building opened in 1919 as a venue for vaudeville and stage performances. In 1929 it was transformed into a cinema to show motion pictures.

The Idaho Falls Arts Council presents between 16 and 18 performances annually, ranging from musical concerts to theatrical productions at this central entertainment location.

The venue can be rented for events and offers concessions including food and beverages. Plan ahead since it hosts both public performances and private functions.

During renovations in the 1990s, workers discovered a hidden stained glass window and original Greek decorative border within the building. These findings revealed artistic elements hidden since the original construction.
