Mount Saint Michael, National Register Historic District in Spokane, United States.

Mount Saint Michael is a four-story building with Gothic Revival features that rises above the surrounding landscape and features pointed arches, large windows, and a T-shaped floor plan. The complex houses religious offices, an academy serving students from kindergarten through high school, and a gift shop operated by the resident community.

Construction began in 1915 when Jesuit leaders established this seminary on a large rural property and combined it with farming operations to support nearby educational institutions. The agricultural roots eventually gave way to expansion focused on religious education and community services.

The chapel on the second floor shows how Catholic worship has been practiced here for generations, with practices that reflect the community's deep religious roots. Walking through the building, you can see how faith shapes the daily rhythm of the place.

The property is located on a hilltop north of Spokane and welcomes visitors who want to explore the grounds and buildings at a leisurely pace. Wear comfortable shoes, as you will need to walk considerably to see the different areas spread across the large acreage.

Beneath the property lies a seismological monitoring station with instruments that have been recording Earth movements since the 1920s, making it an unexpected center for scientific research. Few visitors realize that this religious landmark also serves the scientific community through continuous geological observations.
