Stunt Pilot, Steel roller coaster at Silverwood Theme Park, Idaho, US
Stunt Pilot is a single-rail roller coaster that extends about 1,800 feet with maximum heights around 106 feet and speeds reaching 52 miles per hour. The track features three inversions and sharp turns that follow in close succession throughout the ride.
The coaster opened in 2021 on the grounds of the former Henley Aerodrome, where aviation shows ran from 1988 to 1996. The site was transformed from an active airfield into a ride attraction that continues the location's flight heritage.
This ride honors the park's aviation history through design elements that echo aerial movements and flight. Visitors experience the connection between the ride and the location's former life as an airfield.
Access requires a minimum height of 4 feet (1.2 meters), and trains operate with two cars of ten seats each. It helps to check wait times upon arrival and plan your visit during less crowded periods.
The coaster was built by Rocky Mountain Construction using the Raptor model design, where riders sit suspended directly over the track. This unusual seating creates a sensation of flying that echoes the former airfield's history.
