Louise Bridge, Concrete bridge in Calgary, Canada
The Louise Bridge extends 172 meters across the Bow River with five arched spans, connecting Downtown West End with Memorial Drive and Kensington.
The Fegles Construction Company of Minneapolis built this reinforced concrete structure in 1921, initially supporting streetcar and pedestrian traffic.
The bridge received its name from Louise Cushing, whose father William Henry Cushing served as Calgary's mayor from 1900 to 1901.
The bridge carries four lanes of traffic on 10th Street SW with reversible lanes that adjust to accommodate different traffic patterns throughout the day.
Each of the five wall-arched spans measures 32 meters in length, with an overall width of 19.6 meters supporting daily traffic of 16,000 vehicles.
