Grant Village

Grant Village is a lodging and visitor complex situated on the southwestern shore of Yellowstone Lake at roughly 7,825 feet elevation. The site includes accommodations, a campground, visitor center, restaurants, a general store, and a gas station spread across the lakeshore area.

The village was developed in the 1980s under the National Park Service's Mission 66 program to relocate visitor facilities from sensitive park areas. This initiative shifted how the park managed visitor access while protecting its natural resources.

The visitor center displays information about local wildlife and geothermal features that you can explore while walking around the facility. Educational materials are woven into the buildings and landscape, reflecting how people engage with the park's conservation story.

The area operates only during the summer season from May to October, so visitors should plan visits during this window. On-site parking, boat docks, and walking trails allow exploration, with facilities available for various needs and comfort levels.

The village sits near West Thumb Geyser Basin, where geothermal springs meet the waters of Yellowstone Lake. This rare proximity allows visitors to experience both thermal features and lakeshore in one area.
