Grant Village Campground, Camping ground in Teton County, Wyoming
Grant Village Campground is a camping area with roughly 430 campsites nestled in a dense Lodgepole pine forest near the shores of Yellowstone Lake at approximately 7,800 feet elevation. Each site features a picnic table, fire ring, grate, and bear-proof food storage locker for campers' use.
The campground grew near Yellowstone Lake after the park's founding in 1872 to protect geothermal features and wildlife. The village of Grant developed later to serve as a hub for park visitors and their needs.
Rangers lead educational programs during summer months, teaching visitors about local ecosystems and wildlife behavior in the area. These sessions help guests develop a deeper connection with the natural surroundings while camping.
Flush toilets, showers, and laundry facilities are available in the nearby village for campers' convenience. Shops and restaurants in the village make it easy to handle daily needs without leaving the area.
The campground sits near West Thumb Geyser Basin, where visitors can observe both geothermal springs and the lake waters from the same location. This positioning offers rare access to two distinct natural features without traveling far.
