Carbella Bridge, Road bridge in Park County, Montana.
Carbella Bridge is a road bridge crossing the Yellowstone River in Park County, built from steel and concrete with multiple spans. It carries traffic on Tom Miner Road at its junction with U.S. Route 89 through the Paradise Valley area.
The original bridge was built in 1918 to carry U.S. Route 89 and served as a vital transportation link for the region. It was destroyed by severe floods in June 2022, leading to the construction of a replacement.
The National Register of Historic Places recognized the bridge in 2010 for its engineering design and its role in Montana's transportation development.
The new bridge opened in October 2024 and provides a continuous crossing over the river for vehicles. When visiting, travelers should know that the road can occasionally close depending on weather conditions.
The bridge sits at a critical crossing point in Paradise Valley where decades of traffic patterns converge. This area is known for being particularly vulnerable to intense river activity during snowmelt season.
