Brush Lake State Park, State park with white sandy beaches near Dagmar, United States.
Brush Lake State Park is a state park covering 450 acres (182 hectares) along three sides of the lake, with a 280-acre (113 hectares) water surface surrounded by sandy beaches and grassy fields. The area features gentle shorelines and open spaces designed for swimming, picnicking, and relaxation.
A summer resort was founded at the lake in the early 1900s and later expanded to include a bar, cafe, and dance hall. The state purchased the land around 2004 and established the park to make the area accessible to the public.
During the early 1900s, Hans Christian Hansen created a summer resort, which later expanded with a bar, cafe, and dance hall by 1940.
The park is open from May through December and has twelve camping sites, with ten offering electric connections and two double sites with power hookups. Visitors should plan their trips according to seasonal availability and facility conditions.
The mineral composition of the lake prevents fish populations from living in its waters, creating a distinctive swimming and recreational environment. This quality sets the lake apart from other water bodies in the region.
