Antelope Hill Provincial Park, Provincial park in Special Area No. 2, Canada
Antelope Hill Provincial Park is a protected grassland reserve in east-central Alberta covering around 380 hectares of native prairie landscape. The terrain features scattered deciduous trees mixed with open grassland and natural depressions that shape the rolling topography.
The park was established in December 2014 following a private land donation that protected 940 acres of native grassland ecosystem. This creation marked an important conservation effort to safeguard the prairie landscape in the region.
The park maintains interpretive panels at the main day-use area and former homestead site, educating visitors about the local natural heritage.
The site sits north of Hanna along Township Road 32 and Range Road 14, accessible for day visits throughout the year. Overnight camping and off-highway vehicle use are not permitted to protect the grassland habitat.
The reserve shelters more than 20 species of uncommon vascular plants that are adapted to the prairie grassland habitat. Visitors may also encounter rare bird species like the white-faced ibis and Sprague's pipit while walking through the landscape.
