Stony Rapids, Northern hamlet in Saskatchewan, Canada

Stony Rapids is a northern hamlet on the south bank of the Fond du Lac River in Northern Saskatchewan, 82 kilometres south of the Northwest Territories border. It is the northernmost settlement in Saskatchewan with official municipal status, surrounded by the Northern Saskatchewan Administration District. The community lies 20 kilometres northwest of Black Lake.

Stony Rapids is the northernmost settlement in Saskatchewan with official municipal status, incorporated as a northern hamlet. The Athabasca Health Facility opened in 2003 on Black Lake Dene Nation reserve land (Chicken 224) beside the hamlet, costing $12.7 million and serving the Athabasca region through the Athabasca Health Authority.

The Chipewyan name Deschaghe means "settlement on the other side of the Rapids"; the Woods Cree name asinîwi-pâwistikohk means "stones in these rapids". Both refer to the rapids on the Fond du Lac River where the hamlet stands.

The settlement is accessible by air year-round and has a water aerodrome for float planes. An unpaved road connects it to other locations, though road conditions can vary with the seasons.

Stony Rapids recorded Canada's highest temperature of 30 June 2021, 39.8 °C, and also winter lows of −50.6 °C on 26 January 1966 and 13 January 1972. Snow depth reached 1.09 m on 22 January 1991, and the average snow-free frost period runs 81 days, from 9 June to 30 August.
