Landergin Mesa is an archaeological site located on a mesa in Oldham County, Texas. The mesa rises about 180 feet (55 meters) above the valley floor with steep sides and contains multiple chambers visible at its sandstone surface where people once lived and worked.
People inhabited this location from around 1300 until approximately 1450 as settled communities adapted to life on the elevated terrain. Archaeological study revealed its significance for understanding early cultures that developed in this region of the Panhandle.
The pottery and building remains found here reveal how people organized their homes and created their daily tools. These discoveries show us the practical knowledge and customs that shaped life in this place.
