The Kansas Sports Hall of Fame is a museum at 238 N. Mead in Wichita, occupying a 27,000-square-foot space. Its galleries cover basketball, football, baseball and track and field with jerseys, balls, trophies, photographs and medals. Displays include the Governor's Cup and a memorial to the Wichita State football players killed in the October 1970 plane crash.

This institution was founded in 1961 during Kansas's centennial celebration and has relocated several times before settling at the Wichita Boathouse. The collection honors the development of Kansas sports across generations.

The exhibits feature jerseys and trophies from athletes who shaped Kansas sports, including the Governor's Cup that represents the rivalry between the state's two major universities. You can trace the story of local sports figures through their personal belongings.

The museum is at 238 N. Mead in Wichita, and in June 2009 it announced a move to the Wichita Boathouse, where Bill Koch's 1992 America's Cup yacht America³ is displayed. A separate Kansas Sports Museum was planned for the Chisholm Trail Center in Newton, at 601 SE 36th St. (I-135 Exit 28). The Old Town Wichita museum was closed during the move and renovation.

The track and field gallery displays a high jump bar set at 7 ft 4½ in, the Kansas high school record cleared by Brad Speer of Wichita East in 1984. Two Olympic gold medals and shoes worn by world record holders Jim Ryun and Wes Santee are also shown.
