Drangarnir, Sea stacks formation between Vágar Island and Tindholmur, Faroe Islands

The natural formation consists of two distinct rock pillars rising 70 meters from the North Atlantic Ocean, connected through an impressive arch structure.

The geological structures emerged through millions of years of volcanic activity and continuous erosion by the powerful North Atlantic waves and weather conditions.

Local inhabitants named the formations Stóri Drangur and Lítli Drangur, meaning Large Sea Stack and Small Sea Stack in the Faroese language respectively.

Access to Drangarnir requires booking a guided boat tour from Sørvágur village, with trips available subject to weather conditions and seasonal schedules.

The grass-covered top of the sea arch creates a green crown effect, making these rock formations stand out among other coastal geological structures.
