Madinat al-Hareer

Madinat al-Hareer is a large urban development project in northern Kuwait that combines residential, commercial and leisure zones on an extended site in Subiya. The complex is organized into four main sections with different uses and infrastructure.

The government announced this project as part of a long-term development strategy for economic diversification. Construction work began in the early years of the 21st century with infrastructure measures.

The name references ancient trade routes that once crossed this territory. Visitors notice these connections reflected in public spaces and planning concepts throughout the area.

A bridge system connects the site with the capital and reduces travel time considerably. Visitors should consider planning phases, as some sections remain under construction.

Plans include a tower with more than 200 floors that uses adapted climate control systems for desert conditions. This building would rank among the tallest in the world.
