Government House, Saint Lucia, Official governor residence in Castries Quarter, Saint Lucia

Government House is a brick building completed in 1895 on the crest of Morne Fortune, near Castries. It stands on the site of earlier government houses, including a timber structure finished in 1819. The residence houses the Le Pavillon Royal Museum and its historical documents and artefacts.

The current building was completed in 1895 and replaced earlier structures that served as gubernatorial residences. The move followed concerns about conditions at the previous location.

Government House holds the Le Pavillon Royal Museum, whose historical documents and artefacts are kept in the building. The museum admits general visitors on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and tours of the house run on the same days by appointment only. The name Pavilion recalls the late 18th-century French residence on Morne Fortune.

The 1895 house was fitted with solar panels in 2016, announced at the 2015 UN Climate Change Conference in partnership with the non-profit Solar Head of State. The earlier timber Government House of 1819 measured 80 by 62 feet with five bedrooms, and historian Henry Hegart Breen praised its views over the bay of Castries in 1844.
