Périgord II, Residential tower in La Rousse district, Monaco.
Périgord II consists of two slightly offset structures in the La Rousse area reaching 93 meters high with 30 floors. The buildings hold apartments, offices, and parking spaces within a compact complex.
Joseph Fissore designed this residential complex in 1973, continuing the style he developed in earlier projects like the Schuylkill building. The project came together during a period of intense modernization in Monaco.
The building shows how Monaco developed into a modern residential city, where apartments and shops sit side by side and shape the character of the La Rousse neighborhood.
The building sits near beach and shopping areas and offers 24-hour concierge service for residents and visitors. Access is through clearly marked entrances on both sides of the complex.
The southern side of the building displays large balconies with open views, while the north side features a rhythmic pattern of stairwells, balconies and windows. This contrasting design came from practical aspects of how the structure was arranged.
